Mr. Lentz is currently the superintendent of the Pipestone School System in Pipestone Minnesota. Jim and his family have lived in the Pipestone, MN area for more than 13 years. Prior to working in Pipestone, Jim also supported the Howard and MACCRAY public school systems as superintendent. His more than 18 years of experience as a superintendent provides him with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure exceptional operation of all administration, instructional, and business of any district.
This experience was recognized when Mr. Lentz supported a broad range of communities as chair of the Superintendents’ Executive Council. (more information:http://www.swsc.org/Page/38). The purpose of this organization is to provide advice in regards to program and service development, public relations, professional development opportunities, and policy issues.
Jim’s support and care go beyond the school system for which he is employed, but dives deep into the community in which the school system resides. Mr. Lentz’s research in educational support programs has also provided support to others in many ways. Jim’s success in the Howard and Pipestone school districts have been included in books such as Place Value by Toni Haas and Paul Nachtigal, and Teaching the Commons by Paul Theobald.
Mr. Lentz can speak from experience when leading the administration and faculty of a school system. Jim has taught for several local schools (Sacred Heart, Yankton, SD; St. Peter’s, Delano, MN; Estelline Public, Estelline, SD) and knows well what it takes to provide a solid education. He can speak from experience when requests for program changes or other education needs arise.
Jim has worked hard to ensure that he remains a life-long learner, understanding the need for continued growth in self and knowledge.
